Well, we survived - actually we did much more than survived. By all reports we had an very, very successful conference. If you haven't heard by this point, we had two students, Rebecca Wright and Whitney Morgan-Cox, make it to the Irene Ryan semi-final round. Considering that it's been three years since this has happened, we were pretty excited. THEN, Whitney made it through to the final round, AND THEN,Whitney was one of the two actors to win the competition! So, she'll be going to Washington D.C. in April to compete in the nationals.
In addition, Spencer Potter, Josh Scott and Carly Waggoner each won Honorable Mentions for the work they entered in the design competition. Congratulations are due to them also.
There were so many other things going on. We all put in a lot of hours, saw some great shows, Anton's Uncles was amazing, and did our best to be great hosts.
Now we move on to the rest of the season. Macbeth is progressing nicely. It is set to open the first week in March. Miss Saigon has some interesting challenges to work through, but we've got a great team and I can't wait to see what Matt Neves and the rest of the team are creating. (Remember that it will be in the black box and there will be a limited number of seats. I highly recommend getting your tickets early.)
